Battery Life & Range

 

• The scooter features several high-capacity lithium batteries, which can deliver up to 30km (18.5miles) of travel on a single charge.*
• In order to extend battery life Xiaomi M365 converts and stores kinetic energy during acceleration into electrical power. It is also fitted with regenerative breaking for additional power, which in return improves battery life.
• It takes a little over 5 hours to fully charge a completely flat battery. It is advisable to charge the scooter after every use, this will prevent you from having to fully charge the battery from flat and it also improves the overall battery life.
• When not in regular use the manufacturer recommends to fully charge the scooter at least once a month to avoid it self-discharging which could potentially be damaging to the battery.
• Most users can comfortably get around 18-20km (11-12.5miles) of travel in the standard mode and up to 30km (18.5miles) in ECO mode, a power-saving way of riding the scooter which caps the top speed and as a result extends the battery life.
• It has a top speed of 25km/hr (15mph).

The Xiaomi Home App

• Once paired with your scooter the Xiaomi Home app enables you to view ride statistics such as current speed, remaining battery power and other real-time riding stats.

• It is probably safest to stay away from roads, not because the scooter is not suitable for the surface, but more due to the fact that there are many irresponsible drivers out there and you are in a vulnerable position on the scooter if you get hit. I tend to use mine on cycle lanes and certain wide pavements and footpaths where I can comfortably ride my scooter and not worry about any vehicles that might be speeding behind me.

Riding in Adverse Weather Conditions

• I commute to work on my Xiaomi M365 all through the winter months. However, if the temperature is below 0 I tend to give it a miss, not because the scooter cannot operate in cold conditions, but because of frost and ice on the ground.
• There’s a bit of a debate going on if the scooter can or cannot be used in the rain. Manufacturer’s instructions state that the scooter is IP54 rated, which means it is dust protected and also can withstand light water splashes up to 2cm. However, I have ridden my Xiaomi M365 in really heavy rain, but I did protect the battery with a waterproof ring seal, the display with a rain display cover and I always cover the charging port with a bit of waterproof electrical tape as the rubber cover seems a little loose.
